Summary : During yesterday's friendly match in Toronto, played in an electric atmosphere fueled by the Haitian diaspora, Haiti displayed strong attacking play but lacked the precision to break down the solid Tunisian defense. The Grenadiers, in excellent form, delivered a performance that resulted in a scoreline that contradicted their efforts and intensity. Despite the total commitment of each player, the ball unfortunately never crossed the goal line of the "Eagles of Carthage".

Sébastien Migné opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation for Haiti, while Tunisia chose a 4-3-3. Although Tunisia took an early lead, our Grenadiers controlled possession with a slight majority (51%) throughout the match. This dominance intensified in the second half as Haiti tried to equalize. Total shots : 11 for Haiti versus 9 for Tunisia. Shots on target : 2 for Haiti versus 3 for Tunisia.

In the 7th minute, Tunisian striker Sebastian Tounekti scored the only goal of the game [0-1] with a right-footed shot into the top corner, assisted by Ismaël Gharbi. After this early goal, the Grenadiers tried to respond, particularly in the second half with the introduction of Duckens Nazon and Wilson Isidor. Despite constant pressure on the Tunisian defense, our Grenadiers were unable to equalize. The end of the match was marked by the dismissal of Haitian midfielder Danley Jean Jacques, who received a second yellow card in stoppage time (90’+3’).

The Grenadiers will now focus on delivering a more satisfying result for their fans in the Haiti vs. Iceland match on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
